Mazer

I did not like reading "The Power Team" at all. I have seen and heard people talk about how they get fit for God or people who try to get strength and power by praying to God while they work out. I find it strange how so many people follow them and they pay to watch them do things like breaking bricks. I watched a documentary about something like this before and they think that they got powers from praying to God. It is cool how they are able to use their belief in God to help them work out and get fit and use it to inspire other people.

a plague of tics

I really enjoyed reading this this piece. I liked how he was really descriptive in his writing. It had a lot of imaginary and I was able to picture him doing these things. He reminded me of the guy on the show Monk who has a severe case of OCD. He has to keep doing things over and over again until it feels right, i think that is another reasons why I liked reading this so much. His story was cool because he was able to open up and not hide anything back and was able to tell his true story and his struggles.

1. The question for my final research paper is going to be how has sports marketing online become more beneficial to companies and more effective then marketing sports through television ads?
2.Everywhere we look today we see marketing ads. Most people do not realize how much they are being exposed to these ads. Each day more people are using the internet, which is why online marketing has become popular, and in some cases is the main form of marketing for most companies. Marketing online can generate a lot of revenue for companies. Sports are very important to many people, and it is one of the top things that are being marketed. Now with people having more access to the internet today sports companies have put the main form of their marketing online, with the increase of users on the internet, marketing sports online is becoming more effective than the old form of marketing sports on television.
3.What I currently know about this topic is that in the mid 60's it would only take about 3 ads to be shown to get a woman's attention all day, now today it would take 97 thirty second commercials to get a product known, which I learned in the documentary “The Selling Game.” Also with other research I have done I have found of how the number of people using the internet has grown do the how easy it is now to access the internet. There was a magazine article I read 'Big Games Flowing in Streams' which said 89 million people in the Untied States visited sports websites each month. People are checking scores online more, rather than waiting for them to be on the TV. People also are starting to watch games online and videos and listen to podcasts. If people can not access tv, they can go online which benefits the sports companies. With more interaction the more the people go and view sports sites which means the more companies ads are being marketing, which shows online marketing is working very well.
4.What I still am trying to find out if more information to help me support online marketing is effective. I know I have found out a lot of information on it already, but I still would like to research some more of it to get more points I can make. I want to find out more on what sports companies do to get the attention of their sports fans online.
5.I have used EBSCOhost to find some of my information. I was watching television the one night and came across a documentary on marketing online. I searched google books also and came across a sports marketing book, and it has a whole chapter dedicated to online marketing. A website I found that has an article about sports marketing was very interesting as well, I know with all the sources I have found so far I will be able to take them and use them towards my paper.

Response to plagiarism

I was taught all through high school and even middle school not to plagiarize. The libraiains spent days learning drilling into our heads what is was, and how to prevent ourselves from doing so. Also they told us the consequences of what would happen to us if we did. These articles were pretty much just a review of everything I have learned already. My high school made it clear to us, we would fail and get in further trouble if we were caught plagiarizing. Therefore, I make sure I am not caught copying and pasting things, and if I do I use quote makes and say who said it. Then I analyze what the person said after that. I think most people unintentionally plagiarize because they were not educated enough on what it is considered to plagiarize; just like the Gabriel article said. I think the people who do copy and paste things are just the lazy ones, who waited last minute to do their own work. The only plagiarism I never really heard talked about before was Mosaic plagiarism. To make sure I do not plagiarize I copy the sources I got my information from immediately after copying done the information. I also try to get articles actually in print, because it is hard enough for me to read things online and stay focused, so I would not be able to copy and paste it from an online article to a word document.

Topic

When choosing my topic I had a hard time choosing between two topics. I wanted to do either market research or sports marketing. I think I am going to choose sports marketing and then look at the market research they do for it, or just how market research helps product promotion. Questions I would like to find during my during would be what makes people want things, or want to go to a sporting event. What keeps peoples attention and what keeps them entertained while at sporting events. Also what people look for in the people who play sports. Since I was a junior in high school I knew I wanted to do some kind of marketing, then my senior year I took a sports and entertainment marketing class. We learned about a lot of different things. My true interest is to do market research for from kind of sporting league. So far I have found what you have to keep in mind when it comes to doing research. There are ethical standards and laws that have to be followed when conducting research. I find searching for what drives people to want certain things interesting. I also read about how surveys are also good for when attempting to promote a product. I am excited to researchmore about the topic I have chosen.

Commentary on Matt Ritchel article

I can relate to this article a lot. First off I think it is ridiculous a second grader has a laptop and an iPod touch. Also the article said how when his daughter is on the laptop and you call her name she won't answer. That is exactly like my brother, I try to get his attention when he is texting or on his laptop and he won't answer. I have to keep repeating myself until he hears me. I tried to read the article online but I couldn't concentrate on it, so I read the one that is in print. When I am on the computer I do multi-task. I find myself jumping from one thing to another and not completing one task before I begin another.
